Want to give a few quick instructions for the event Sunday.

USAT Rules and Regulations apply. Please
familiarize yourself with the rules.

If you are a USAT Member, you must show us your
USAT card. No card, you
must pay the $10 one day entry fee.
·
Athletes, who are not USAT members and have not
paid the extra $10, will be required to pay the $10 one day fee in
order to receive their packet.
·
No athlete will be allowed to pick up another
athlete’s packet. PHOTO ID REQUIRED at check in for ALL athletes!
·
You will receive your run number (must be
displayed on front during BOTH runs, bike number to be mounted on top
tube or seat stay, visible by all race officials. Bike helmet number
to be pasted on front of helmet prior to entering transition area.

We have secured a new
transition area for the season. It is located just north of
Ocean Place
hotel. (2 blocks north of Laird)
You may park in that area if you find parking and
then walk south to Shore Runner to check in.
First Run (2 Miles)
We start at transition
area, head north, turn around at the north end of boardwalk, then head
south past transition area.
Just before Pier
Village
you will proceed down to street level and run on the east side of
parking area. Stay to the left of the cones all the way to 2 mile turn
around point, then back the same way. This is for first run only.

Transition
Enter the transition area
from the southwest corner, exit from the northeast corner. Everyone
has same distance in transition area.
Exit transition area then mount bike – NO
RIDING IN TRANSITION.

north end of boardwalk. CAUTION ON LEFT TURN--
ROUGH ROAD.
One block turn right at end of fence, go
past
Seven Presidents
Park
to end, right turn then follow road to left to
Atlantic Ave.
Cross
over Route 36 to next traffic light,
Long
Branch Ave.,
turn left and take Long Branch Ave
to end, then quick right, then left turn onto
Broadway
to 2nd
Ave.
2nd Ave
to end, right turn on Cedar
Avenue.
Left on
Greens
and half way around
Lake
Takanasse.
Right on Elberon
Ave, to
end.
THIS
PART OF COURSE IS NEW!!!
Right on
Park Ave,
2 blocks, over rail road overpass / hump,
very
quick left on Truax.
Down to
Lincoln Ave,
VER Y SHARP LEFT TURN ON DOWNHILL.
You must
ride with extreme caution here.
Straight on
Lincoln
Ave, all the way to
Ocean
Ave, left turn then it’s a straight
shot back, all the way passed Pier Village, passed Ocean Place Resort,
right on
Madison Ave,
(this is also a different turn than last year) then slow to entrance
to transition area at southwest corner,
NO RIDING
THRU TRANSITION AREA.
Rack your bike and run out via northeast
corner.
Second Run (3 miles)Second
Run.
Second run begins same as
before -- run north to end of boardwalk, then back south to the 3 mile
turn around then finish on the boardwalk right in the center of
Pier
Village.

PLEASE NOTE:
ATHLETES ONLY IN TRANSITION AREA – ABSOLUTELY NO
EXCEPTIONS!!
ROADS ARE NOT CLOSED TO
TRAFFIC. Be cautious at all intersections, we have eleven police
officers on the course to assist with safety but
YOU
are responsible for watching out for crazy drivers, as usual. People
can cross the course and cut you off at any time.
Be Safe
and Be Smart!!!
It is always the
responsibility as an athlete to be familiar with the course.
Also, please do not drop Gu packs or other items on
the course. You could be disqualified, this is against USAT rules.
Absolutely no
headphones on the bike or run.
Remember,
seconds don't count, safety
does.
